Reaching out globally...

God is at work globally!  These servant leaders work alongside churches, ministries, and people to show the love of God to the world!

  • Dayspring Congo

Having just celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the establishment of the Congo Mennonite Church, the connection with the North American Church (Bethesda) is still cherished and deep ties have been formed. Current projects include student support, literacy classes, sewing machines, church construction, building repairs and medical supplies. If you have questions regarding Dayspring projects, please contact Ron Goertzen at 402-723-5749.

  • Dayspring Menno Village

“Here in Japan, we have been contemplating how to share the presence of God in the midst of the ongoing nuclear disaster.” Ray Epp and Akiko Aratani, along with their four sons, Kazu, Yohei, Ken and Toshiharu, work as directors with a food and agricultural initiative at Menno Village, a farm outside of Sapporo, Japan on the island of Hokkaido. They raise organically grown vegetables and have a 500 bird laying flock as well as a bakery. Menno Village opens its doors to displaced individuals who want to start a new life. They offer a safe place where people are able to work, have a roof over their heads, food in their stomach and the time to contemplate new beginnings. The Epps take the time to listen to concerns and challenges that each face, and offer the love of Christ. Raymond comments, "We are finding that in imagining a new economy into being - one in which the land is cared for, people receive healthy food, and farmers are treated justly - we are striking a chord in Japanese culture." The Epps' work has been featured in three award-winning documentaries in Japan. They also teach at the Bible department of Rakuno Gakuen University.

  • Dayspring Thailand

Pat and Rad Houmphan are involved in evangelism and church planting among the Isaan people in northeastern Thailand. The majority of Isaan, or Lao-Thai, practice Buddhism mixed with ancient animism. A number of Isaans have become Christians. The Living Water Church meets in several villages with believers coming from surrounding villages. Outreach activities include a successful cow-lending project for economic development, medical missions, and English camp. Bethesda was so fortunate to have Pat and Rad Houmphan visit us in October 2013! Thank you for your commitment to loving the Isaan to Christ and for your dedication to the call.   Connect with them on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Pat-Rad-Houmphan-Thailand-Ministry-674656479261420/timeline

He is compelled by the example of sacrificial love shown to them by Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, to respect ALL people, to serve them sacrificially, to love them unconditionally, and to work together towards hope for a brighter future.
